PATH ADMINISTRATOR:  The Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Popielno

The nature trail leads through the experimental forest of the Research Station of the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The forest with an area of approximately 1,800 ha was fenced and intended for the breeding of free-living herds of Polish horses. Walking along this nature trail, you can get learn about the biodiversity of the Pisz Forest and its typical plant species. Scots pine dominates among the trees, however, you can see there spruce, silver birch, pedunculate oak, small-leaved lime and common hornbeam as well.

The route starts at the Research Station, leads along the shore of Lake Bełdany and ends at the entrance gate to the Popielno forest, near the village of Warnowo.
