TRAIL COURSE: Mrągowo - Nikutowo - Piecki - Krutyń
ON THE ROUTE:
- The route leads mainly through open areas, along field, dirt and asphalt roads
The route is suitable for both pedestrians and cyclists. It begins with gravel with an admixture of crushed stone, then an asphalt road and dirt and forest paths. Along the entire section, it crosses an asphalt road in 5 places. It begins in the village of Nikutowo near Mrągowo, behind the gas station. It begins with the most difficult part, i.e. a quite steep hill ending on an old railway embankment, most of which it will run along. The route then leads between farmlands and meadows. After crossing the asphalt road, we will reach the ruins of a railway viaduct, blown up in 1945 by retreating German troops. After overcoming another hill, the path passes into the forest along the national road 59 to the town of Piecki. For lovers of ceramics and folk culture, the exhibition of ceramic figurines at the Regional Museum will be a treat. Walentyna Dermacka with its registered office at ul. Zwycięstwa 48. Another place worth recommending, located halfway along the route, is the nature trail "Around the Pond in Pickach". This is a place where you can observe, among others: one of the largest colonies of black-headed gulls found in Warmia and Mazury. Heading southeast, we reach road No. 610. The next part of the route leads through agricultural and forest areas; mixed forests and mixed forests that look picturesque at any time of the year. After reaching the Klimunt lake, we once again cross the asphalt road. On the right side of the route there is the border of the picturesque Krutynia Górna Reserve, rich in flora and fauna. The reserve was created to protect the Krutyński Lake, the upper section of the Krutynia River and the adjacent deciduous and mixed forests. The route ends in the charming Masurian village of Krutyń, near the seat of the Masurian Landscape Park.
