Regional Museum named after Walentyna Dermacka from the Sapieha Family is a local museum of Polish folk art. Its patron was born in 1922 in Nowogródek and came to the Masurian region after the war. Since then, she became interested in folk culture and the Masurian region itself. Her message was to cultivate cultural heritage for future generations. She collected everyday items and souvenirs, and over time began to collect folk art pieces. Most part of the exhibition consists of the collection of clay figurines by Władysława Prucnal from Medynia Głogowska. The figurines present a past Polish village, traditional costumes, rituals and customs. The collection consists of cycles, e.g. “From grain to loaf”, “Adam and Eve”, “The Blessing of Water”, “Pottery”. n addition to thousands of clay figurines, the exhibition includes rich literature on folk art and the region of Warmia and Masuria, furniture as well as everyday exhibits and objects.
