he watch tower is located near Mikołajki, in the village of Łuknajno by the Łukniańska Bay, where a quiet zone is (the entrance fee for the tower must be paid at the Łuknajno Folwark). It offers a view on the largest lake in Poland –– Lake Śniardwy. Lake Śniardwy is a moraine-dammed lake with eight islands, e.g. Szeroki Ostrów, Wyspa Pajęcza, Czarci Ostrów and Kaczor. It has an area of 113.4 km2 and is 23.4 m deep. There are places where erratic boulders lay on the shallow bottom of the lake, 20 to 30 cm under the water table, which poses a threat to nautical tourism.
