ON THE ROUTE:
- The route leads mainly in open areas, along field, dirt and asphalt roads.
The cultural and historic trail leads via places related to the former settlement in these lands. The route starts and ends in Krutyń. The village was founded around 1500 as a hunting settlement. Before the WW II it was known as a summer resort. It offered rides by boats pushed with sticks by an oarsman.
The settlement of Old Believers (Philipons) had a significant impact on the culture of these lands. They were followers of the Orthodox Church, who came here around 1830 because of religious persecution and founded today's settlements, e.g. Wojnowo, Osiniak, Piotrowo, Śwignajno.
Ukta, the biggest village of the Park, established in the middle of the 18th century, is located on the trail. In 1864, a brick church and a wooden belfry were built here. In 1898 a railway from Czerwonka to Ruciane with a station in Ukta was opened. The trail runs near the ruins of the railway bridge. In its vicinity you should pay attention to the monumental linden avenue.
